‘Outstanding’ Curry Mallet Primary School achieves top marks from Ofsted

Curry Mallet C of E VA Primary School has excelled in a recent Ofsted inspection achieving a rating of ‘Outstanding’ in all areas.

The inspection assessed the school on the achievement of its pupils, the quality of teaching, the behaviour and safety of pupils and its leadership and management; all of which were judged to be ‘outstanding’.

Headteacher of Curry Mallet C of E VA Primary School, Wendy Devereux said: “All those associated with Curry Mallet Primary School are very proud of achieving ‘outstanding` in our recent Ofsted inspection.

“We are a small inclusive school and provide a unique learning environment where children can develop their skills to be lifelong learners.”

Somerset County Council’s Cabinet Member responsible for schools, Cllr Frances Nicholson said: “I am delighted by Ofsted’s across-the-board recognition of this outstanding school that so clearly serves its children well so that they can achieve their potential.”

Inspectors went on to praise a number of other areas within the school, stating “the school is very well led by the headteacher”, “teaching has been very effective in motivating and engaging pupils and has enabled them to make excellent progress”, and that “Curry Mallet Primary School is very much an inclusive school where there is determination for all pupils to achieve well”.
