Did you know that one third of all road traffic collisions involve people who drive for work?
Did you also know that a company’s manager is responsible for ensuring that steps have been taken to protect the safety of its employees?
Somerset County Council’s Road Safety Team can help make sure that your company’s driver policy is up to date and that all employees who drive for work are aware of the necessary guidelines.
If you are not sure what your responsibilities are according to corporate manslaughter law, feel free to attend a free information evening on Thursday 16 October at the Holy Trinity Hall, Lysander Road, Yeovil, BA20 2BU, from 7pm to 8pm.
Cllr David Hall, Somerset County Council’s Cabinet Member with responsibility for the Road Safety Team, said: “All employers have a duty of care for their staff and taking precautions now will stand you in good stead if you, or one of your colleagues, is involved in a collision.
“Somerset Road Safety offers a terrific service and I’d advise anyone who is unsure about their responsibilities to attend one of their meetings or contact them directly for more details.”
