Somerset Road Safety is offering a £50 discount on any ‘Mind Your Business’ workshops booked by the end of February 2015.
Run by Somerset County Council’s road safety task force, the sessions get companies clued-up on their legal responsibilities if their employees drive for their jobs.
With one third of all collisions involving people who drive for work, driving home these messages to businesses is paramount.
In any company, the manager is responsible for making sure steps have been taken to improve the safety of their employees, and fulfilling a company’s or organisation’s duty of care.
Cllr Harvey Siggs, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Road Safety at Somerset County Council, said: “If you are not sure what your responsibilities are in the eyes of the law, booking a Somerset Road Safety ‘Mind Your Business’ workshop for yourself and your employees is one way you can improve their knowledge.
“Attending one of these tailored workshops will raise your drivers’ awareness of the dangers of speeding, lane discipline, and the importance of having an up-to-date driver policy.
“These are messages you can never hammer home too many times, which is why I encourage all businesses to sign up right away, and make the most of this month’s offer.”
