Council backing for Brand Somerset

Somerset County Councillor David Hall has hailed the power of Brand Somerset following last week’s hugely successful Somerset in Business conference.

The annual event, organised by the Somerset Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was this year titled ‘Made in Somerset’ and focused on some of the famous names and products which originate in the county.

Cllr Hall, the County Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Business, Inward Investment and Policy, was a guest at the conference.

He said: “I was absolutely delighted to see so many businesses coming together to celebrate and promote Brand Somerset.

“I think we all recognise the importance and value of this brand and we have world leaders from manufacturing, engineering, food and fashion industries on our doorstep.

“It is vital that we all harness the power of this brand, and we at the County Council will continue to work closely with our partners at the Chamber and with the business community to help develop this now and in the future.”

The Somerset in Business Conference was held at Junction 24 near Bridgwater on June 4 and was attended by more than 300 delegates and more than 30 exhibition stands.
