Cllr Frances Nicholson celebrates with Bishop Fox GCSE students

Somerset County Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Families has today paid tribute to all the students in Somerset who are receiving their GCSE results.

Cllr Frances Nicholson visited Bishop Fox’s School in Taunton this morning to meet with teenagers as they collected their results.

“One of the great things about my role is the chance to meet with young people and share moments like this,” she said.

“What is clear is how hard all our students have worked leading up to today and it was wonderful to see the delight of so many young people as they picked up their results.

“While many students got the results they wanted, or even surpassed their expectations, there is obviously disappointment for others. My message to you is, please don’t be too downhearted. There are always options remaining – get in touch with your school or local college and seek advice.

“My thanks to Bishop Fox’s for inviting me along, and I wish everyone the very best for the future.”
