Whether you’re more into Jimi Hendrix’s blues riffs than John Williams’ classical guitar style, free music courses could help you tune up this winter.
Somerset Rural Youth Project and Shepton Mallet Library have come together to offer the local community the opportunity to learn guitar and drumming skills, composition and music technology.
The sessions are open to everyone, no matter what your age or skill set, so that adults, young people and families can learn together.
Two free 10-week programmes are being offered in guitar and drumming. Groups will get to learn the skills to play the instruments and songs, and see how music technology can change music-making. There will also be a chance to compose music to share with the local community.
The guitar course runs from Monday 2 November until Monday 25 January, while the 10-week drumming programme starts on Monday 1 February until Monday 25 April.
Places for the courses are limited. To book please contact James Brookes at Somerset Rural Youth Project on 07974 575603 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
