Next week the Fostering and Adoption Recruitment Service will be logging on for a Facebook Q&A for Somerset residents interested in Fostering in the future.
The Q&A will be held on the Fostering in Somerset Facebook page – www.facebook.com/fosteringinsomerset – from 4pm until 8pm on Thursday 12 November.
Somerset County Council seeks individuals and families who would like to help a young person or child aged 10 or older in the county as a Foster Carer. More people are needed who have the enthusiasm to make a real difference to a teenager or child by offering them stability, support, energy and encouragement.
There is a particular need for carers for young people in Taunton, Bridgwater, Minehead, Yeovil, Shepton Mallet and Frome.
Foster Carers often have a background in the public sector or caring industries, may have worked with young people or children, or are simply driven by wanting to make a difference.
However there is no one-size fits all, and the Council offers a wealth of training and professional development opportunities, along with a pay progression scheme which rewards carers for their skills, experience and learning.
The Q&A is a perfect opportunity to speak to the friendly Fostering team and have any initial questions you have about Fostering with Somerset answered.
You can speak to staff by posting on the Facebook page, or by privately messaging the team.
You can also enquire about Fostering with Somerset by visiting www.fosteradoptsomerset.org.uk or by phoning 0800 587 9900.
