Somerset County Council is now employing the ‘Power of &’ in its drive to recruit adult social workers from across the country.
Earlier this month Somerset County Council launched the campaign to attract new social workers to the county. It’s not just about children’s social workers, the Council also needs more adult social workers, mental health practitioners and occupational therapists to move to the county.
The recruitment campaign aims to entice people from all over the country to move to Somerset for the wonderful countryside and tempting work package that includes a competitive salary, relocation allowance of up to £8,000 and excellent training and career development.
“It is an exciting time for adult social care in Somerset.” said Cllr William Wallace, Cabinet Member for Adults Social Care, “We are reaching out to our communities and we have set up hubs across the county to be close to the people that need support.
Cllr Wallace continued: “New social workers who join our team will be part of a close-knit group of people who are endlessly supportive and ambitious to achieve great things for vulnerable people throughout the county. The roles are stimulating and workers will often work with high levels of autonomy and find themselves spending many valuable years supporting people.”
The ‘Power of &’ campaign will be taking Somerset’s message to social workers and would-be social workers across the country through advertising, social media, dedicated websites and major recruitment events.
