Essential work to resurface the carriageway and rebuild kerbs on the A39 Bath Road in Bridgwater is due to take place later this month.
Somerset County Council will be carrying out most of the work using temporary traffic lights to minimise disruption.
These will be in place from Monday 22 February to Thursday 25 February during off peak hours between 9.30am to 3.30pm.
It will also be necessary to close the road for one evening (6.30pm to 11.30pm) on 25 February for carriageway resurfacing.
The closure will affect access onto the Bath Road via Parkway and an alternative route will be signposted.
Cllr David Fothergill, Somerset County Council’s Cabinet Member for Highways, said: “We’re committed to investing in our roads but unfortunately this does mean some short term disruption while we’re carrying out the improvements. We’ve planned the work to keep this to a minimum, but I apologise in advance for any inconvenience.”
