Calling all children’s and families’ services and groups

Providers of children’s and families’ services and community groups across the county are being urged to join a new information and advice website in Somerset.

The Somerset Choices website currently focusses on adults’ services but soon it will be expanded to include children’s services.

When it is launched, the Somerset Choices children and families website will be a central point of access to information, advice and a wide range of services and support groups for children and families, including Somerset’s Local Offer.

Cllr Frances Nicholson, Cabinet Member for Children and Families, said: “We need as many local children’s and families’ service providers and community groups as possible to join the website and add information on what they offer. Providers, charities and businesses large and small can join the website and best of all it is absolutely free.

“If you run a local child care service, sell products for children and young people or organise a support or social group I urge you to go along to one of our information events in April to find out more about the new website and sign up.”

Information events for children’s and families’ service providers and organisers of community groups are being held across Somerset in the next month to share more details on the new website and encourage them to add their details.

People can sign up to one of the events by using this link www.somerset.gov.uk/choicesfeedback or by telephone on 01823 357354.

If people are unable to attend one of these sessions they can enter their details by clicking on the ‘I would like to be involved’ option on the link.
