Improvements to a key junction in Frome are now complete.
Somerset County Council has been working to upgrade the traffic light-controlled Vine Tree junction where Berkley Road meets Rodden Road since late February and completed the 10-week scheme on Friday (13/5).
The improved junction has safer facilities for pedestrians and cyclists, and new traffic lights which use extra low voltage equipment and LED lights to reduce energy usage and save money. The junction has also been fully resurfaced.
Cllr David Fothergill, Somerset County Council’s Cabinet Member for Highways, said: “We’re committed to investing in our road network and making sure our junctions run as safely and efficiently as possible.
“I’m pleased to report that these much-needed improvements are now complete, and I would like to thank people in Frome for their patience and understanding while work was underway.”
