A main road near Stratton-on-the-Fosse will close next month for improvements to the drainage system.
The A367 Bath Road will be closed from Monday 12 September for four weeks to upgrade the drains, pipes and culverts. Due to the nature of this work with deep excavations in the highway, the closure will need to be in place 24/7.
Cllr David Fothergill, Somerset County Council’s Cabinet Member for Highways, said: “It’s never an easy decision to close a road, but we have a duty to make sure our infrastructure is in good condition. This drainage scheme represents major investment in one of our A roads and will provide lasting benefits.
“Please take note of the closure dates and plan your route carefully before you set off. Don’t forget, you can find details of planned roadworks and live traffic information 24/7 at www.travelsomerset.co.uk. You can also sign up to receive email alerts about future roadworks on routes of your choice.”
