The fourth adult social care advice and information drop-in opens in the West Somerset and Sedgemoor area next week.
It will take place at the Church Centre in Nether Stowey (TA5 1LJ) on the second Tuesday of every month from 1-4pm, offering advice and information on adult social care as well as helping people find out about local services and community groups that can provide support.
No appointments are needed, just turn up for a chat and a cuppa with a friendly member of the social care team, a local Village Agent or volunteer.
The local CAB and Credit Union also meet in the Church Centre on the same day, so people can pop in to ask questions and get information on a number of things at the same time.
Councillor William Wallace, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, said: “The drop-ins are a really useful place for people to get quick advice on social care and information on support groups, social and leisure groups, care services and volunteering opportunities in their local area. There is more going on in local communities than you might realise and some of it may be just what you need. Please pop in – even if it is just to say hello and have a cup of tea.”
The drop-in events also take place regularly at:
- The Sanctuary, Watchet (TA23 0AE) – on the last Tuesday of every month from 10am to 1pm.
- Becket House, Williton (TA4 4NR) – on the first Tuesday of every month from 10am to 1pm.
- Baptist Church, Minehead (TA24 8BS) –on the first Friday of every month from 10am to 1pm.
