Nominations are now officially open for a new award recognising the efforts of Somerset Adult’s Social Care staff.
The award celebrates dedicated and hardworking staff who go the extra mile to support people in the community.
Throughout November, anyone who wants to say a big thank you to their key worker and see them formally recognised by the awards can complete a nomination form at www.somerset.gov.uk/ascaward
The awards will be presented by Somerset County Council at a celebration event in February 2017.
Cllr William Wallace, Somerset County Council’s Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, said: “This award is for anyone who works with people supported by Adult Social Care, for example social workers, advanced practitioners, adult social care workers and occupational therapists. We know that working in social care can be challenging, as staff are often supporting people through difficult times in their lives, so we wanted to find a way to show them how much their efforts are appreciated and what a positive difference they make.”
Cllr Anna Groskop, Somerset Council’s Cabinet Member with responsibility for Human Resources and Organisational Development, said: “We want to ensure that staff at all levels of the County Council are recognised and celebrated for their outstanding contributions. The Staff Awards Scheme is an opportunity to formally thank them for their hard work. It also gives colleagues the opportunity to share examples of excellence and celebrate together.”
