Barratt Homes has confirmed details for the next phase of a major roadworks scheme in Yeovil.
The developer is currently replacing the mini-roundabout at the junction of Sherborne Road and Lyde Road with a new traffic light controlled junction.
This is required as part of a legal agreement linked to the construction of new homes at Wyndham Park which were originally approved by South Somerset District Council back in 2006.
Work began in September but the second phase is due to start on Monday 9 January, subject to the developer submitting all the necessary pre-works information. This phase will see Lyde Road closed to traffic until early March, with two-way temporary traffic lights on Sherborne Road.
Barratt Homes and its principal contractor Tithegrove have been working closely with Somerset County Council to plan the timing and details of the scheme to minimise impact.
