A new care and support ‘Community Connect’ drop-in opens in Bridgwater next week.
The drop-in will take place at the Admirals Landing pub in Bridgwater (TA6 3EX) on the first and third Wednesday of every month from 10am to 12noon – starting on Wednesday 15 March.
At the drop-in people can find information and advice on care and support options, as well as information about local services and community groups that can provide help.
No appointments are needed, just turn up for a chat and a cuppa with a friendly member of the social care team, a local Community Agent or volunteer.
Other local groups, such as the Bridgwater University of The Third Age, also meet in the pub on the same day, so people can pop in to ask questions and get information on a number of things at the same time.
Councillor William Wallace, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, said: “The drop-in is a really useful place for people to get quick advice on social care and information on support groups, social and leisure groups, care services and volunteering opportunities in their local area. There is more going on in local communities than you might realise and some of it may be just what you need. Please pop in – even if it is just to say hello and have a cup of tea.”
