Freezing temperatures are expected again overnight with a @ warning in place for ice and hazardous driving conditions expected.
We’re treating the network now and will continue to patrol through the night.
Schools: We expect most, if not all schools, to open as usual tomorrow, though that is a decision for the individual schools to make. Schools should keep parents updated on any disruption and they are also asked log any closures here: https://slp.somerset.org.uk/Lists/Emergency%20School%20Closures%20Today/ClosedToday.aspx
Planning your travel: Travel Somerset will be tweeting the latest travel information as we know it, so log on at www.travelsomerset.co.uk or follow them on Twitter @TravelSomerset. We will be closely monitoring road conditions. Gritting updates are available at www.travelsomerset.co.uk/gritting.
Weather forecast: You can check the latest weather forecast here: https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings#?region=sw&date=2018-03-18®ionType=area
Take care and please look out for others: Take extra care and look out for others during the cold and icy weather. Look out for friends and family who may be vulnerable to the cold and ensure they have access to warm food and drinks and are managing to heat their homes adequately. Perhaps discuss with friends and neighbours about clearing snow and ice from the front of homes and public walkways nearby to try and minimise the risk of falls, if you feel safe to do so.
