Quentin Blake’s Magic comes to Somerset Libraries

The Librarian Theatre is touring Somerset Libraries this Summer, presenting ‘The Green Ship’ by Quentin Blake

 The theatre production of the book is their first ever stage adaptation; they are undertaking an epic 50-show tour of the play between 1st May and 30th June 2019, around UK public libraries including four in Somerset.

Sue Crowley, Strategic Manager Libraries at Somerset County Council said: “This promises to be a magical, family-friendly play about childhood, friendship and the power of the imagination. We are delighted that performances will be held in the following Somerset Libraries:

Bridgwater Library – Sat 1 June, 2.30pm

Chard Library – Wed 5 June, 1.30pm

Taunton Library – Thurs 6 June, 2pm SOLD OUT!

Yeovil Library – Fri 7 June, 6pm

Librarian Theatre create performances based on classic plays and stories and adapt them to be performed at public libraries and book festivals across the country. As a not-for-profit organisation, they aim to work alongside the library sector to deliver accessible, affordable and professional quality theatre to local communities, whilst using their tours as opportunities to promote and protect public library services, reading and literacy.
