Important maintenance work is taking place on the A371 at Ansford Hill starting in under two weeks.
Preparatory work starts on Monday 12 August ready for resurfacing to begin on Monday 19 August. The road will be shut from 7.30am until 5.30pm (Monday to Friday) while works are underway to keep the workforce and road users safe. This closure is expected to be in force until 23rd August. There will be a signed diversion route in place for traffic.
Councillor John Woodman, Somerset County Council’s Cabinet Member for Highways said: “This is essential work to provide enduring improvements to the roads in Somerset. With this summer’s resurfacing scheme, we’re not just filling the potholes, we are removing and replacing the top layer of the road to make our highways safer.
“Please take note of the closure dates and times and plan your journey carefully.”
