Resurfacing works on a key route in Yeovil are planned to take place later this month.
The resurfacing will require a road closure between the Bluebell Roundabout and the Westlands Throughabout and will take place overnight to minimise disruption.
Works are scheduled to take 9 weekday nights (weather dependent) starting on Tuesday 29 October with the road closed between 8pm and 6am.
Cllr John Woodman, Somerset County Council Cabinet member for Highways, said: “This is important work and has been planned to take place at off-peak times to minimise any disruption to the public. If you do need to travel in this area during the closure then please take note of the dates and times and plan your journey carefully.”
During the road closure a suggested diversion route will be clearly signposted on site or can be found at www.travelsomerset.co.uk/roadworks. Stay up to date with this and other roadworks schemes by following @TravelSomerset on Twitter.
Somerset County Council looks after more than 4,170 miles of road and in 2018/19 invested £24.7m to keep the county moving, including filling 18,519 potholes and delivering 385 highway maintenance schemes ranging from drainage works to carriageway and footway resurfacing.
