A major engineering scheme to upgrade drainage on the A358 between Chard and Tatworth starts next week.
The section of Two Ash Hill near Two Ash Lane has been subject to issues with localised flooding in the past.
This scheme will replace the drainage system along a 330m stretch of road, including new chambers, covers and gullies.
The scheme is programmed to start on Monday 11 November and last approximately four weeks. Due to the need for open trenches in the carriageway it will be necessary to close the road 24/7 to keep both the workforce and the travelling public safe.
A suggested diversion route suitable for all vehicles can be found at www.travelsomerset.co.uk/roadworks or will be clearly signposted on site. As with any road closure, drivers are free to find their own alternatives.
