Somerset Libraries will be marking Mental Health Awareness Week (18–24 May), with a wide range of helpful videos, resources and activities to join in with over the course of the week.
This year’s theme from the Mental Health Foundation is ‘kindness’ in celebration of the amazing demonstrations of kindness we have seen in our communities during the coronavirus pandemic.
There will be guides throughout the week to keeping mentally healthy, book recommendations, tips on activities to maintain and improve your wellbeing and suggestions for how you too can share the kindness.
Councillor David Hall, Somerset County Council’s Cabinet member with responsibility for libraries said: “It is vital that everyone views their mental health with the same importance as their physical health, particularly in these times. The upcoming Mental Health Awareness Week will be filled with wonderful virtual resources from our Libraries, and I urge everyone to take part.”
Visit Somerset Libraries UK on Facebook or on Twitter (@SomersetLib) throughout the week to take part or visit www.mentalhealth.org.uk.
