Tuesday 21st June, 4pm. Somerset Performing Arts Library, Yeovil.

In celebration of Make Music Day, Somerset Libraries Presents ‘Late Flowering Lyricist’, a talk by local musician and artist Miranda Pender.
Make Music Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate all forms of music and is recognised across the world, from France, where it originated, to Nigeria.
Somerset is celebrating with a very special talk and performance from local musician and artist Miranda Pender – Late-Flowering Lyricist – A Musical Talk.
Miranda overcame a life-threatening illness to reinvent herself as a singer/songwriter. In the summer of 2008, Miranda had just turned fifty and was bumbling along in life, contented but without any strong sense of ambition or purpose. She enjoyed listening to music, but it never occurred to her that she might be able to sing, and she certainly did not envisage herself performing solo with a guitar or playing and recording songs that she had written.
This is a story of how it may never be too late to change direction; the importance of ‘seizing the moment’; and how, with a bit of determination, you might be able to achieve things you never dreamed of.
This event is free, but reserving your space is essential. Please visit https://latefloweringlyricist.eventbrite.co.uk to book a seat.
Somerset Performing Arts library is housed on the top floor of Yeovil Library.
There is a lift, and toilet facilities available.
